Notes from Han:
Finca Velez, with over 250 years of history, was once owned by General Ignacio Torres and named after Juan Carlos’ ancestor. Though parts of the land have been sold, Juan Carlos still holds the majority, cultivating Sidra and Typica. This is our third time featuring a Sidra at Bad Artist Coffee. We picked this lot because it stood out on the cupping table with its lively acidity and sweetness that carried beautifully from hot to cold. Sidra is believed to be a cross of Ethiopian Heirloom and Bourbon, giving it distinct floral and fruity notes. Like Geisha, it’s challenging to grow, and remains a varietal unique to Ecuador!
