Introducing the Timemore Chestnut C3 Coffee Grinder

Introducing the Timemore Chestnut C3 Coffee Grinder

At Bad Artist Coffee Co, our vision from the get go has always been about cultivating new home brewers by introducing ways of brewing coffees at home in a less intimidating way.

In this series, we would like to introduce new products that are beginner friendly and that will provide an enriching experience in brewing your very own cup of tasty coffee at home.

After researching and learning the technicalities of manual coffee grinders, we believe that the Timemore Chestnut C3 Coffee grinder's features are one of the most suited for a first time home brewer and even experienced coffee brewers looking for an upgrade to grind better coffees.

Here are some technical information provided by Timemore below:-

S2C660 Stainless Steel Conical Burr
The acronym "S2C" burr stands for "Spike to Cut" burr, this burr is built with a more durable high carbon stainless steel compared to it's predecessor burrs where it's more resistant to rust and wear. This burr is said to grind faster and produces consistent particle size yielding a sweeter flavour profile to the ground coffee.

Aluminium Alloy Body and Textured Surface
The body of this coffee grinder is made of Aluminium which is light weight and perfect for your travels. Additionally, Timemore included a classic diamond pattern design to it's texture for easy grip.

Wide grind size adjustments range
Because of the new "Spike to Cut" technology introduced into this grinder, the ability to grind coffees into different brewing methods is now easier than ever.

So, here's how I use this coffee grinder:-

1. I would first pour the coffee beans into the container and measure the desired coffee ground output.
2. Next, I would set the grind size by 17 - 20 clicks at the bottom of the grinder.
3. Pour the beans into the top of the grinder (ideally less than 20g). Lock the now emptied container and start grinding the coffees.

How to adjust the grind size:

1. Rotate clockwise for finer grinding
2. Rotate anti-clockwise for coarser grinding
3. Rotate clockwise to the end - this position is called the ’start point'
4. You can refer to the start point to adjust the coarseness based on your preference

Some reminders on how to use the hand grinder:

- The device is only designed to grind coffee beans only
- DO NOT grind coffee beans at the 0 - 6 Clicks. This range of clicks will risk damaging the burr's sharpness
- Cover the lid before you adjust the grinder's coarseness
- DO NOT wash the coffee grinder with water. It's recommended to clean it with a brush
- Be mindful of the sharp metal burrs
- Keep it in a cool and dry place
- It's not recommended to disassemble or replace any parts of the coffee grinder
